The Studi’03 Artists are based
at the Highland Print Studio in Inverness.
Throughout the week four sessions focus
on different media- The Monday print
group work on lino, screen print and
etching. The Wednesday SQA group covers ‘Working
with Materials’, ‘Exploring
Visual Images’ and ‘Developing
Personal Ideas’ and the Thursday/Friday
groups use mixed media. Although we
are a Local Authority Organisation,
we have moved away from the traditional
Day Service base. We
link into other artist organisations
for projects and
exhibitions and have raised the profile
f learning disabled artists in the
Inverness area. The artists have developed
their skills and personal styles and
their confidence has grown. Sales of
their artwork go towards funding memberships
at the Highland Print Studio, some
memberships are funded by sponsors. Exhibitions
and projects Beauly Gallery,
Inverness art gallery, ‘Journeys’ with
Project Ability and National Museums
of Scotland.
