Project Ability, set up in 1984, is
a specialist arts organisation. We
deliver an innovative and highly regarded
visual arts workshop, training and
exhibition programme for young people
and adults with disabilities or mental
health problems.
Since 1990 we have been based at the Centre for Developmental Arts (CDA) in Glasgow’s
Merchant City. The CDA houses: our office accommodation, two galleries, a fully
equipped and accessible workshop, a video production suite, and the Trongate
Studios (a supported studio facility).
Whilst based in Glasgow and working extensively with people in the local area,
our outreach and exhibition programme takes us across Scotland from the Highlands
and Islands to Dumfries, and we frequently contribute to international exhibitions,
conferences and workshops. We develop work in partnership with schools, resource
centres, community venues and hospitals. On average we work with around 300 people
each week. |
